Satyananda Yoga is for both beginners and the more experienced of any age. Satyananda Yoga is a complete system of yoga from North East India. It covers all aspects of yoga: the asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), relaxation and meditation.

Yoga is never competitive and this yoga system encourages all students to work from within and to their own ability, using their breath. Yoga without inner awareness is NOT Yoga.
Yoga helps to keep the body supple and offers peace and tranquillity to the mind. Most physical and mental conditions will be helped by the yoga in these classes.

The relaxation / meditation practice of Yoga Nidra is taught in every class. Yoga Nidra is an ancient practice from India which was introduced to the West by Swami Satyananda Saraswati in the first part of the twentieth century.
It is a mindfulness practice that helps you to fully release and relax and benefits the body and mind and spirit so it is beneficial for the whole being. Yoga Nidra encourages wellness and reduces anxiety and relieves tension.
It allows you to be completely focussed on being in the now and reduces the stresses and strains of everyday modern life.

Swami Satvikananda is a trained yoga therapist as well as a teacher and has worked with many medical conditions.
